Tenant matching is the behind-the-scenes work that ensures individuals living together in our supported accommodations are not just compatible in terms of support needs, but also in lifestyle, personality, and preferences. It’s about more than filling a room—it’s about building a positive and sustainable living environment.
Our process always starts with the person, not the property. We take time to understand each participant—what their daily routines look like, how they communicate, what they enjoy doing, their sensory needs, and any factors that might influence how they interact with others. We also learn what a successful living situation looks like for them, based on their past experiences and personal goals.
At Thrive365, we know that compatibility goes far beyond age or disability type. We carefully consider things like routines, social habits, communication preferences, activity levels, and even things like music taste or how someone prefers to spend their downtime. For example, a person who enjoys a calm and quiet environment may not thrive in a home with louder or highly social housemates—and that’s okay. Our goal is to find the right fit for everyone.
Families, guardians, and support coordinators are also invited to contribute throughout this process. Their insights are invaluable in understanding the participant’s broader needs, preferences, and what has or hasn’t worked in the past. Before a participant moves in, we arrange informal meet-and-greets, shared meals, or short trial visits to help break the ice.
